Welcome to Balanсed Wellbeing
Thank you for your interest in my website. Whatever has brought you here, I invite you to follow your curiosity and find out a little about me, Kay, and what I may be able to offer you.
I am a professionally qualified Counsellor working with individuals face-to-face in Steet, Glastonbury and surrounding areas, as well as online. I will provide you with a confidential and safe space, in which you can allow yourself to talk about your concerns, issues and difficulties, which perhaps you feel unable to share with others.
I work using an integrative approach, like being equipped with a tool belt from which I can pull on elements from a variety of counselling modalities, which I feel would be most helpful to fit your needs and best suited to your character.
If you are seeking counselling for the first time, I hope to encourage you to ‘give it a try’. If you have previous experience of counselling, positive or negative, no two experiences can be the same. I hope to encourage you to ‘give it another go.
I am a professionally qualified Counsellor, with a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in Integrative-Relational Counselling, having worked for the past 11 years with individuals online and face-to-face.
I believe in the power of connection and understanding, and strive to foster a trusting relationship within which you will feel heard and valued. I work with a variety of issues including low self-esteem, anxiety and stress, low mood and depression, relationship issues, bereavement or life-changing decisions.
Using an integrative approach, I am able to pull on elements from a variety of counselling modalities, best suited to your needs and character. I am a registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their ethical principles and guidelines which can be viewed on their website (www.bacp.co.uk).
Counselling offers a supportive environment where individuals can express their feelings and thoughts without judgment, helping to identify and address personal issues. It equips people with coping strategies, fosters self-understanding, and enhances problem-solving skills. Additionally, counselling aids in setting and achieving personal goals while providing tools for effective communication and emotional regulation. Ultimately, it promotes personal growth and resilience, leading to a more fulfilling life.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
Problems with addiction
Trauma
Depression
Anxiety
Relationship problems
Anger
Abuse
Stress
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Post-traumatic stress
Grief, loss or bereavement
Work or retirement
Family or school life
I offer face-to-face counselling sessions in Glastonbury and also welcome clients from Wells, Street, Walton and across the wider Somerset area.
In addition to in-person sessions, I provide online counselling at Balanced Wellbeing via Google Meet or Zoom, offering you flexibility and comfort wherever you are in the UK.
Whether you prefer to meet in person or online, I aim to provide a safe, confidential and supportive space for you to talk and be heard.
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and cost £55 per session.
Sessions are usually held on a weekly basis, though frequency can be adjusted depending on your needs and availability.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I will always do my best to accommodate you. However, sessions cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment may still be charged.
Counselling in Glastonbury and online, supporting clients from Wells, Street, Walton and throughout Somerset.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on +447701062154 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
Counselling provides a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings. If you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck in life, counselling could be beneficial. If you’re unsure, please feel free to contact me either by phone or email, and we can schedule a time to discuss your concerns and see if it feels like a good fit.
My aim is to create a welcoming and supportive environment. Your first session will be all about getting to know each other. It’s a chance for you to ask questions and get comfortable with the process. We will discuss any specific challenges you’re currently facing and talk through your possible goals for counselling.
The frequency of sessions can vary depending on your needs and goals. Typically, clients meet weekly or bi-weekly, especially at the beginning of therapy. We can adjust the schedule together as you progress and your needs change.
If you need to cancel an appointment, we would first try to move your session to an alternative time during the same week. If that is not possible, you will still need to pay for the cost of the room hire (within two weeks of your session) or the full amount of the session if within 48 hours of the upcoming booking. I will always try my hardest to accommodate all eventualities and endeavour to be as fair as possible.
You can schedule an appointment by contacting me via phone, email or through the contact page on this website. I will do my best to accommodate your preferred times and discuss any questions you might have before our first session.
